peplum and bell bottom OOTD

I have been having obsessions with 3 things: peplum, bell bottoms and hoops. So I decided to be bold and put all of them together. Yes, I know that was a little ambitious and maybe crazy, but I thought...heck, why not?!

First, let me apologize for how dark this is but my best creations come at night! ;) and also for my messy room.

Top- black peplum top from Kohl's
Jeans- Mango bell bottoms jeans
Shoes- black wedges from Target (2 years ago)
Jewelry- gold bangles and hoops from Forever21

I really enjoyed how this look came out and I encourage y'all to go out and put your favorites together- you never know what look may come out!

Always stay happy and healthy! :)

April Glam bag 2013

Another month, another Glam bag! The theme for April was "Pretty in Pink" so of course, all the products were pink and girly! Here's what the contents/bag looked like:

All the way on the top left, is Be a Bombshell Blush in the shade Sweet Cheeks- the swatch is all the way to the left as well! I would describe this as the perfect Barbie-pink with shimmer. I don't think the picture really does it justice, because it really is super pigmented. It can be intensified with more product and wears pretty long.

Next up is the Sexy Hair Powder Play. I think these types of products really have been really new staples on the market. I haven't tried this specific brand but I am sure most of them work the same.
The second to last product is the Two Cosmetics Duo Eye Shadow in Heartache- those swatches are the middle and right ones. I am unsure how I feel about pink eyeshadow, I may have to work a little with some different looks! They are very pigmented though!

Lastly, is the Sation Nail Lacquer in Of Corset I'll Call You. I really enjoyed this color because it is one of those shades that can go with anything! I would say the actual color comes off as a bit brighter of a pink than what is shown in the picture (this was 3 coats). The drying time also isn't as quick as others, but I would say it is about average. The polish lasted 2 days and on the third, there was some minor chipping- my disclaimer is that I don't have great nail beds right now.
So those were all the great products that came with the April 2013 Glam bag. A little update from last month- as you probably may have guessed, I pick the GLAMRX Mini Freestyle Palette as my favorite product! I think this is the most convenient thing ever, especially on very short trips! I think it is also amazing for a day to night look for someone that works all day and is planning an outing at night! I just can't say enough about it!

I hope you enjoy the Glam bags as much as I do, and maybe these posts have even made you want to subscribe yourself! Of the 4 Glam bags I have received I have not yet been disappointed- that is not to say all the products were the most amazing quality, but the sizes of the samples and the variety of products that come with it are so great for $10!

Always stay happy and healthy! :)

easy Sunday OOTD

I had a brunch to attend today and it was more of a classy type thing. I thought I would do this outfit of the day right away since you might still be able to find these things! Please don't mind my messy room -.-

Dress- TJ Maxx
Shoes- wedges from Charlotte Russe (click here)
Jewelry- bangles and hoops from Forever21

If you are into loose "shift" dresses like this, I would really suggest to look for this at your TJ Maxx- it was only $17! I should mention though that this is a bit sheer so you need a slip or some type of shaping item underneath. The shoes are amazing as well, so comfortable!

I can't wait to wear this dress with some flats for a more casual look. This could also work as a swimsuit cover-up if you find this too sheer!

Always stay happy and healthy! :)

trash talk: episode 3

March ended up being the month of empties for me- I used up a lot of great products! I know I usually only include 5 products or so, but I though a lot of these were related (somewhat) so I said, what the heck, and included them all.

All the way on the left you can see the LA Fresh Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes that I got in my ipsy Glam Bag last month (click here to see that post). Personally these wipes were not "wet" and saturated enough to take off my makeup, especially when it came to the eyes. They have a baby-powder scent that didn't really bother me, but it is somewhat strong. Another set of wipes that I finished are the equate Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes that apparently compare to the Neutrogena ones. I liked how much makeup remover was in each towel (able to remove both all of my foundation, as well as eye makeup). They did sting my eyes though when removing mascara, which caused them to water all night. I wish the formulation of the liquid was more sensitive. For the price though, I thought they were worth it.

Next product is the Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Foundation in shade Regular. I talked about this a lot! The shade was a bit dark for me, so I used it to contour when wearing natural makeup. I like the coverage that it has and how easily it applied. I also should mention how long this sample size lasted! I would say that I used this every day for about 5 months- to me, that's worth it! I am looking to repurchase this in a lighter shade so I could wear it as a foundation.

I also used up the Crest 3D White Toothpaste. I have mixed feelings about this. I don't think it necessarily does what it claims. If you have stained teeth, is this going to whiten them? No. I think this toothpaste is to remove all the bacteria that stains your teeth that day...for example, you drank a cup of coffee in the AM and a glass of wine at night. I also don't like how it doesn't froth up. I like toothpastes that get foamy and frothy and this just doesn't cut it.

Two mascara-type products that I finished are the Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus and the Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash. I really enjoyed both of these! I wouldn't repurchase the lash primer just because I think all lash primers do the same, regardless of brand. I did really like how this wasn't stark white so single lashes that weren't completely coated with mascara didn't stick out like a sore thumb. The MUFE Smoky Lash mascara is probably one of the best I have ever tried. It did dry up quite quickly, but I love it, nonetheless. It just requires really no effort!

Last, but not least, is the essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara. I used this to set my brows and I probably wouldn't buy it again. It didn't quite hold my brows in the way they needed it. I just prefer to use hairspray because I have it laying around and I don't mind the "crispy" brows. If you don't have unruly brows it will work just great!

I hope this gave you some insight as to what products work and do not work for me! I apologize for kind of being MIA, I have been super busy with school and graduation stuff. I am working on being more regular!

Always stay happy and healthy! :)

quick eye makeup

Recently I have been drawn to quick and easy eye looks that I can just slab on when I'm in a rush. One of the palette's that has made this effortless is the balm Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette. I just love the combinations of colors in this palette and the fact that all the shades I need are in one place, makes it that much better!

First I take the shade Matt Abdul and feather that into my crease. The only purpose for this color is to create a gradient to the brow area. I then take Matt Hung and place that on the entire lid, making the color as dense as I can. I also drag that color along the lower lash line. To finish off the look, I add Matt Malloy on the brow bone and inner corner as a highlight.

You can add liner on the top lashes and waterline to make the look extra dramatic! I think this would look amazing on green and brown eyes because of the purple tones in the shadows. The best thing about it- it only takes about 2 minutes to do both eyes!

You can see that the complete look ends up being light enough to wear every day (especially without the black liner in the waterline) without looking too plain. Pair it with a nice nude pink lip and you are good to go!

Always stay happy and healthy! :)
